Endodontic Procedures

Helping Others

Dr. William Cheung and Dr. Levin participate in a teaching mission to Leshan City and Beijing, China.

Since Dr. Levin began his career in endodontics, he has ascribed to the notion that caring and giving go hand-in-hand. Dr. Levin says, "Giving back is a privilege. I am fortunate to practice with a great team of co-workers who are dedicated to doing the right thing. We always feel good when we are able to help someone."

University of Pennsylvania Some of the highlights of the past few years have been to serve as Chair of the Board of Overseers at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, where an outreach program has been underway to recruit a more diverse student body. Other initiatives include, improving the educational experience for doctoral and post-doctoral students and increasing the endowment funding to support capital improvements, scholarships and faculty salaries.

Blood Drive Each year, our practice hosts the Chesapeake and Potomac Chapters of the American Red Cross with a blood drive in our office. We have been fortunate to work with a dedicated team from the Red Cross who come to our office for the day and help alleviate the blood shortage in our community, which averages about 600,000 pints during the Christmas holiday season.

So Others Might Eat (SOME), an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation's capital, has been a recipient of our time over the years.

Teaching Dr. Levin has been honored to join the faculty of Nova Southeastern University and the University of Maryland's post-doctoral teaching programs. He has been an invited guest at the American Association of Endodontists and more than 15 teaching institutions nationwide. He lectures about technology and operations management with an emphasis on the clinical aspects of patient safety.
