Dr. Martin Levin

Dr. Levin graduated with honors from Emory University in 1968, and earned his degree in dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972, where he was a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. After completing his post-doctoral residency in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (AAE) and a member of the College of Diplomates. Dr. Levin served as Co-Chair of the Joint Special Committee of the American Association of Endodontists and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology on Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) and has rejoined the committee to update the position paper.  Dr. Levin is the AAE’s representative to the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging – the Image Gently Alliance.

He speaks both nationally and internationally on CBCT, advanced endodontic technologies, diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical techniques. At the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, he received the Alumni Award of Merit, served as Chair of the Board of Overseers from 2004-2008, is an ex officio member of the board, and is currently Chair of the Dean’s Council.  Dr. Levin is an Adjunct Professor of Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine, Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Endodontics, Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine. At the University of Maryland, College of Dental Medicine, he is Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Endodontics, Periodontics and Operative Dentistry.

He is a contributor to Editions 8-11 of “Pathways of the Pulp,” Editions 6-7 of “Ingle’s Endodontics,” and “Cone Beam CT: Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnosis and Applications,” as well as author of numerous peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Levin was a keynote speaker at the 61st American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Congress and a panelist at the 2010 American Dental Association Open Clinician and Science Forum on CBCT. Dr. Levin currently serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Panel of the Journal of Endodontics, serves on the Continuing Education Committee of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and is included in the Recommended Speakers List of the American Association of Endodontists and the Seattle Study Club Speakers Bureau. He is the Managing Director of EndoNet Consulting, LLC, a technology and teaching consultancy located in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Dr. Levin is listed in Washingtonian Magazine’s “Best Endodontists,” recognized as a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academies of Practice in Dentistry,  and included in the Consumer’s Research Council of America’s “Guide to America’s Top Dentists.” He is a Specialist Member of the American Association of Endodontists,  member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Southern Maryland Dental Society and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
